THE SHROUD REMOVED
From the 18th Dynasty Tomb of Montuhirkhepeshef at Thebes
An unique portrayal appears in this tomb scene showing the tekenu in a
prone position on his
sledge without his shroud. He is being pulled by three priets and is followed by
four men
who pull a large chest that contains oils and ungents for use in the "Opening of
the Mouth"
ceremony. Click on the funeral procession to continue.
